A Local Christmas Twist on the French 75

2 shots of gin, I used Hendrick's Gin
½ shot of Jitterbug Sodas Strawberry Jalapeño Elixir- no fear people far and wide- you can experiment with any kind of flavoured simple syrup, get out in your area and see who is making fun new artisanal products like this (I even have a Polish savoury rosemary one from Terra Madre/Italy that I intend to try soon)

Top with Prosecco (I know, I know, everything I said was about Champagne, but I'm Italian and a Prosecco drinker through and through- any sparkling will do.)

Shake well with ice in a martini shaker and fine strain into a Champagne flute. Top off with Prosecco, and garnish with whatever you like. I used a jalapeño pepper for effect, but I didn't eat it. It did add some more heat though as I took a few minutes to photograph them. Funny.

The French 75- the original recipe from The Savoy Cocktail Book, Harry Craddock
2/3 Gin
1/3 Lemon Juice
1 Spoonful Powdered Sugar.
Pour into tall glass containing cracked ice. Fill glass with Champagne.
